The successful applicant will work on the long-lasting risk of relapse to drug addiction. Our project » CYP46A1 in
Parvalbumin Interneurons: Targeting Striatal Cholesterol Metabolism to Combat Cocaine Addiction »
funded by the Institute for Public Health Research (IRESP), will investigate the role of brain cholesterol metabolism
in drug addiction and the persistent risk of relapse.
We are looking for a motivated young scientist to work on this project combining several approaches to study the
role of cholesterol metabolism in specific cell populations of the dorsal striatum in drug-induced synaptic plasticity
in a rat model of drug self-administration. The position may be particularly suitable for candidates experienced in
rodent behavior, optogenetics and ex vivo electrophysiology with an interest in developing novel technical
approaches to correlate behavior to neuronal activities.
